When You Need Muscle Stimulation Therapy in Tempe

We see a lot of tight, spasming muscles here in Tempe. ASU students sit at laptops for hours. This gives them tense shoulders and necks. Cyclists and runners near Tempe Town Lake get sore calves. Their IT bands get tight from overuse. Construction workers near Mill Avenue often get stiff backs. Long shifts in the heat don't help. Electrical muscle stimulation sends gentle pulses into the muscle. This eases tension and cuts pain without medicine.[1] Summer heat makes cramps and spasms worse for many patients. Waiting too long lets small tightness turn into real pain. That pain can limit your whole day. We use it with chiropractic adjustments for faster, longer-lasting relief.

Common Cases

Student Neck and Shoulder Strain

Hours at a laptop or hunched over books leaves muscles tight and sore. EMS loosens them up fast.

Runner and Cyclist Overuse

Flat Tempe pavement means repeated strain on legs and hips. We calm those tired muscles.

Heat-Related Muscle Cramps

Arizona summers dry out muscles and trigger painful spasms. EMS helps relax the cramping tissue.

Commuter Back Tightness

Long drives on the 101 or US-60 stiffen the lower back. We target those exact muscle groups.

Construction and Labor Strain

Hard jobs around the Novus Innovation Corridor lead to sore shoulders and backs by day's end.

Auto Accident Muscle Spasms

Whiplash and crash injuries often cause tight, guarded muscles. They need gentle, steady relief.

Dr. Steven Enriquez is truly exceptional at what he does. I’ve been to chiropractors before, but I have never experienced someone who seemed so genuinely in tune with my body. His level of knowledge, intuition, and attention to detail is remarkable. He knew exactly where the misalignments were, how they were affecting other areas of my body, and everything he explained was completely consistent with what I had already been experiencing.

What impressed me most was how confident and precise he was while still being incredibly attentive. I felt completely safe in his hands and could tell immediately that he has a real gift for understanding the body and knowing exactly what it needs.

After my first adjustment, I felt an immediate difference—not only physically, but emotionally. There was this beautiful, unexpected sense of release afterward, almost like my body had finally let go of tension it had been holding onto for a long time. I slept incredibly that night, and somehow my second adjustment was even better. I walked out feeling lighter, lifted, and like everything in my body was finally moving the way it was supposed to.

Dr. Steve is incredibly talented, knowledgeable, and gifted at what he does. It’s rare to find a practitioner who makes you feel this understood and cared for while also delivering such noticeable results. I’m genuinely so grateful I found him and Global Chiropractic. I cannot recommend him highly enough!

Dr. Enriquez and his staff are amazing. I've been going there for a few months now and my back has never felt better! The staff is amazing as well, I had to bring my daughter with me and had her sit up front and they made her feel confiscated comfortable while I was in the back, which made me feel confidant comfortable knowing she was in good hands. 10 out of 10 would recommend!

I’ve been seeing Doctor Steve for more than 15 years, and it’s been a while since I last saw him. He quickly recognized all my concerns and is helping me resolve them. He’s incredibly knowledgeable and professional; he really knows his stuff. If you walk into his office, he’ll tell you where your aches are before you can tell him.

Your Questions

Electrical Muscle Stimulation Questions

Here are answers to what Tempe patients ask us most about this therapy.

  • How much does electrical muscle stimulation cost?

New patients pay just $95 for an exam and first session. After that, cost depends on how many areas we treat and your insurance. We'll always tell you the price before we start.

  • How long does a session take?

Most sessions run 15 to 20 minutes. If paired with an adjustment, plan for about 30 minutes total. Many Tempe patients fit it into a lunch break.

  • Can I just do this myself at home?

Home units exist, but they're not made for your exact injury. Dr. Enriquez targets the exact muscles causing your pain. He pairs it with hands-on care. That mix gets better, faster results.

  • How often will I need treatment?

It depends on how long you've had the pain. Many patients start with two to three sessions a week. Then we taper off as muscles loosen. We adjust the schedule as you improve.

  • Is this urgent if my muscle is spasming?

Yes, ongoing spasms can pull your spine out of place over time. The sooner we calm the muscle, the faster you avoid bigger problems. Don't wait weeks hoping it fades on its own.

  • What are signs I need this treatment?

Look for tight, knotted muscles, repeated cramping, or soreness that rest doesn't fix. Tempe's heat and long commutes make these signs common. If stretching isn't helping, it's time to come in.

  • Does EMS hurt?

No, most patients feel a mild tingling or pulsing feeling, not pain. We adjust the strength to your comfort level. Many people find it relaxing after a long day on Tempe's hot pavement.
