Warning Signs

When You Need Extremity Adjustments in Tempe

Extremity adjustments treat joints outside the spine, like shoulders, wrists, hips, knees, and ankles. We see a lot of this at our Rural Road clinic. ASU students come in with wrist pain from typing for hours. Runners along Tempe Town Lake get knee and ankle pain from hard pavement. Construction workers from the Mill Avenue area often have sore shoulders from overhead work. If a joint feels stiff, swollen, or weak, don't wait. A chiropractic adjustment can help you move better and hurt less. No surgery needed.[1]

Common Cases

Shoulder Pain and Stiffness

Overhead work and gym use strain the shoulder joint. We adjust it so it moves smoothly again.

Wrist and Carpal Tunnel Pain

Lots of laptop and phone use makes wrists stiff and sore. Many ASU students feel this by midterms.

Knee Pain From Running

Flat, hard Tempe pavement wears on your knees over time. We help realign the joint and ease the strain.

Ankle Sprains and Instability

A rolled ankle from paddleboarding or a pickup game can stay weak if it's not treated right.

Hip Tightness From Sitting

Long drives on the 101 or I-10 lock up your hips. Adjustments loosen the joint and ease back pain too.

Sports and Overuse Injuries

Club athletes and weekend players often push joints too hard. We get you back to your sport sooner.

Dr. Steven Enriquez is truly exceptional at what he does. I’ve been to chiropractors before, but I have never experienced someone who seemed so genuinely in tune with my body. His level of knowledge, intuition, and attention to detail is remarkable. He knew exactly where the misalignments were, how they were affecting other areas of my body, and everything he explained was completely consistent with what I had already been experiencing.

What impressed me most was how confident and precise he was while still being incredibly attentive. I felt completely safe in his hands and could tell immediately that he has a real gift for understanding the body and knowing exactly what it needs.

After my first adjustment, I felt an immediate difference—not only physically, but emotionally. There was this beautiful, unexpected sense of release afterward, almost like my body had finally let go of tension it had been holding onto for a long time. I slept incredibly that night, and somehow my second adjustment was even better. I walked out feeling lighter, lifted, and like everything in my body was finally moving the way it was supposed to.

Dr. Steve is incredibly talented, knowledgeable, and gifted at what he does. It’s rare to find a practitioner who makes you feel this understood and cared for while also delivering such noticeable results. I’m genuinely so grateful I found him and Global Chiropractic. I cannot recommend him highly enough!

Dr. Enriquez and his staff are amazing. I've been going there for a few months now and my back has never felt better! The staff is amazing as well, I had to bring my daughter with me and had her sit up front and they made her feel confiscated comfortable while I was in the back, which made me feel confidant comfortable knowing she was in good hands. 10 out of 10 would recommend!

I’ve been seeing Doctor Steve for more than 15 years, and it’s been a while since I last saw him. He quickly recognized all my concerns and is helping me resolve them. He’s incredibly knowledgeable and professional; he really knows his stuff. If you walk into his office, he’ll tell you where your aches are before you can tell him.

Common Questions

Extremity Adjustment Questions

Here are answers to what Tempe patients ask us most.

  • How much does an extremity adjustment cost?

Most visits cost $95 to $400, based on the joint and your plan. We take most insurance plans. Car accident and work injury cases often cost nothing out of pocket.

  • How long does a visit take?

A normal visit takes about 20 to 30 minutes. Your first visit takes longer since we do a full check. Later visits move faster.

  • Should I try to fix this myself?

Home stretches help mild stiffness. But a misaligned joint usually needs hands-on care. Forcing it yourself can make it worse. Get checked before it becomes a bigger problem.

  • How is this different from a spinal adjustment?

A spinal adjustment works on your back and neck. Extremity adjustments fix joints like shoulders, knees, wrists, and ankles. Many patients need both if pain spreads.

  • How bad is joint pain that won't go away?

If pain lasts more than a week or limits how you move, don't wait. Joints left alone often get stiffer and hurt more. Early care usually means faster healing.

  • What are signs I need an extremity adjustment?

Watch for stiffness, swelling, less movement, or pain that gets worse with activity. Clicking or popping joints are signs too. We see this a lot in runners and ASU students.

  • Do I need a referral to get treated?

No referral is needed at our Tempe clinic. You can walk in or call to book directly. We'll handle insurance once you're here.
