Warning Signs

When a Disc Problem Needs Attention

A herniated disc often causes low back pain that shoots down one leg. You might feel numb or weak in your foot or calf. Tempe drivers sit 45 to 90 minutes a day on US-60 or Loop 101. We see this a lot. Long car rides squeeze your spine. This can push a disc out of place. Workers near Mill Avenue and the Novus Corridor get hurt from heavy lifting too. So do ASU students who sit over laptops all day. Don't ignore the pain. A disc pressing on a nerve can cause more harm over time. Some cases need surgery if left untreated.[1] Getting checked soon can help you skip surgery.

Dr. Steven Enriquez is truly exceptional at what he does. I’ve been to chiropractors before, but I have never experienced someone who seemed so genuinely in tune with my body. His level of knowledge, intuition, and attention to detail is remarkable. He knew exactly where the misalignments were, how they were affecting other areas of my body, and everything he explained was completely consistent with what I had already been experiencing.

What impressed me most was how confident and precise he was while still being incredibly attentive. I felt completely safe in his hands and could tell immediately that he has a real gift for understanding the body and knowing exactly what it needs.

After my first adjustment, I felt an immediate difference—not only physically, but emotionally. There was this beautiful, unexpected sense of release afterward, almost like my body had finally let go of tension it had been holding onto for a long time. I slept incredibly that night, and somehow my second adjustment was even better. I walked out feeling lighter, lifted, and like everything in my body was finally moving the way it was supposed to.

Dr. Steve is incredibly talented, knowledgeable, and gifted at what he does. It’s rare to find a practitioner who makes you feel this understood and cared for while also delivering such noticeable results. I’m genuinely so grateful I found him and Global Chiropractic. I cannot recommend him highly enough!

Dr. Enriquez and his staff are amazing. I've been going there for a few months now and my back has never felt better! The staff is amazing as well, I had to bring my daughter with me and had her sit up front and they made her feel confiscated comfortable while I was in the back, which made me feel confidant comfortable knowing she was in good hands. 10 out of 10 would recommend!

I’ve been seeing Doctor Steve for more than 15 years, and it’s been a while since I last saw him. He quickly recognized all my concerns and is helping me resolve them. He’s incredibly knowledgeable and professional; he really knows his stuff. If you walk into his office, he’ll tell you where your aches are before you can tell him.

Common Questions

Herniated Disc Treatment Questions

Here are answers to what Tempe patients ask us most.

  • How much does herniated disc treatment cost?

Your first visit starts at $95 with our new patient deal. Costs after that depend on your plan and insurance. We always explain prices before we start.

  • How long does treatment take?

Many patients feel better after just a few visits. Full healing can take a few weeks. It depends on how bad the problem is. We'll check your progress each visit.

  • Can I treat a herniated disc myself?

Rest and stretching can help mild cases. But a real herniated disc often needs real care. Without help, nerve pressure can get worse. Get checked early.

  • How is this different from surgery?

Chiropractic care doesn't cut into your body. It relieves pressure the natural way. Surgery is usually a last choice. Most of our patients avoid it with steady care.

  • How soon should I come in?

Come in as soon as you feel numbness, tingling, or leg pain. Waiting can make it worse. Early care usually means a faster recovery.

  • What are the signs of a herniated disc?

Common signs are low back pain, leg numbness, and a weak foot. Tempe drivers and workers see these a lot. If this sounds like you, we can help.

  • Do I need a referral to see you?

No, you don't need a referral. Just call us to book your free visit. We also work with lawyers for auto accident claims.
